Wheel of Life

The Wheel of Life is a visual tool used in life coaching and self-assessment to evaluate your satisfaction across different key life domains. It helps you gain a holistic view of your well-being and identify areas for improvement.

Structure:

  • Imagine a pie chart divided into wedges, each representing an important aspect of life.
  • The specific categories can vary, but there are common themes.

Core Categories:

  1. Health: This includes physical and mental health, energy levels, and overall well-being.
  2. Finances: This covers your financial security, budgeting, and debt management.
  3. Career: This assesses your job satisfaction, career growth opportunities, and fulfillment from work.
  4. Relationships: This evaluates the quality of your relationships with family, friends, and romantic partners.
  5. Personal Growth: This focuses on self-improvement, learning new skills, and personal development.
  6. Fun & Recreation: This assesses your satisfaction with leisure activities, hobbies, and overall enjoyment of life.
  7. Physical Environment: This considers your living situation, workspace, and overall comfort level with your surroundings.
  8. Spirituality: This explores your sense of purpose, connection to something larger than yourself, and inner peace (can be replaced with a different category depending on your values).

Using the Wheel:

  1. Self-Rating: For each category, rate your satisfaction level on a scale (often 1-10). Mark a point on the corresponding section of the wheel to represent your rating.
  2. Balance Check: The completed wheel reveals areas where the line bulges outwards (high satisfaction) and areas that are sunken in (low satisfaction). This imbalance highlights areas that might need more focus.
  3. Action Planning: By identifying areas for improvement, you can set goals and develop strategies to enhance your satisfaction in those aspects of life.

The Wheel of Life is a starting point for self-reflection, not a rigid measurement tool. Use it to gain insights and create a more balanced and fulfilling life. Additionally, you can adapt the categories to fit your own priorities.
